Aside from the potential for manifold damage, I suspect most of the pinched o-ring issues we see here are a side effect of the "Dremel Method". It is more difficult to get the new injector to seat properly with the upper plenum on, which increases the chances of pinched o-rings. Your options for pressure testing the assembled fuel rail before startup is also limited. I suppose it is a matter of preference.
